Easy Lasagne Recipe:
(Serves 4)

For the filling:
1 Onion - Diced
3 Garlic Cloves - Finely chopped
3 or 4 Mushrooms - Sliced
2 tbsp Medium Olive Oil
1/2 tsp (heaped) Ground Cumin
500g Lean Lamb Mince - preferably washed
1 can of Plum/Chopped Tomatoes
1 1/2 tbsp Tomato Puree
1/2 tbsp Salt (I know I say 3/4 tbsp in my video, but you can always add in more)
1 tsp (heaped) Pepper
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
1/2 tsp Chilli Flakes
1 1/2 tsp Worcester Sauce

For the Bechamel (white) Sauce: (alternately, buy from a jar if it suits you)
1/2 pint Milk
1/4 Onion
3 cloves
50g Butter
35g Flour (I know I say 50g in my video, but I realised it was too much :p)
(and a Bay leaf if you have any)
A pinch of salt and pepper

Lasagna Sheets
Cheese!

Method:
Step 1. Heat the olive oil in a pan on medium heat. Throw in the garlic and onions and cook until just turning golden.
Step 2. Add in the cumin and fry for another minute or so.  Add the lamb mince and cook until the mince is no longer pink.
Step 3. Add in the tinned tomatoes and leave to cook for 3-4 minutes. Once the mince is bubbling, add in the mushrooms, tomato puree, salt, pepper, lemon juice, chilli flakes and stir thoroughly. Cook for 4-5 minutes.
Step 4. Turn the mince down to a low heat and stir in the Worcester Sauce.
Step 5. For the Bechamel sauce, place the milk, onion, cloves (and bay leaf) in a pot and heat gently until simmering, stirring constantly.
Step 6. Place the infused milk to one side, removing the onion, cloves and bay leaf.  In another pot, melt the butter and add in the flour, mixing thoroughly to remove any lumps.
Step 7. Add the milk in slowly, until combined with the butter and flour with a thick consistency.
Step 8. Preheat the oven to 190C. In a baking tray, place some lasagna sheets. Top with 1/3 of the mince mixture and spread evenly. Place another layer of lasagna sheets on top, followed by 1/3 of Bechamel, again, spreading evenly.  Sprinkle cheese on top of the Bechamel and now repeat the process, beginning with the mince, until all the mixture is used up.
Step 9. For the final layer, make sure you finish with lasagna sheets, followed by the Bechamel and a lots of cheese to cover everything.
Step 10. Place into the oven and cook for roughly 45 minutes or until golden on top.

Enjoy!

Hey everybody! So as you may have guessed, this a blog about cooking! It won't be about fine dining or even anything over-complicated - just simple food with big flavour. All the recipes I post will be tried and tested by myself but if you do try them as well, it would be great if you could post a review too!

Anyway, most of the time the recipes will be accompanied with a video tutorial which I hope will help with any things I don't explain properly.

Enjoy!
